New Hiking Trip on the Monte Rosa Trail Offers Spectacular Adventure Experience in the Heart of The Alps

Active Adventures announces a new hiking adventure trip in the magnificent Italian & Swiss Alps, providing an impressive alternative to rival the ever-popular Tour du Mont Blanc

QUEENSTOWN, New Zealand, – January 9, 2024

The Tour du Mont Blanc is a hugely popular hiking trail on many bucket lists. However, there's a lesser-known trail in The Alps with arguably even more spectacular sights - the Tour de Monte Rosa, named for the stunning pink hues that come to life on its snowy peaks at sunrise and sunset. Active Adventures has announced the launch of its Italian & Swiss Alps Hiking Adventure, a fully-guided, small group trip of the Monte Rosa massif, that spans Italy to Switzerland, immersing guests in the vibrant colors and rich culture of The Alps.

Active Adventures' new trip features hiking from one charming mountain village to the next chocolate-box alpine settlement, soaking up the magnificent views, such as the iconic Matterhorn and stunning Monte Rosa. Guests are also treated to soaring above mountains such as Testa Grigia and over the Teodul Glacier on breathtaking cable car rides. Additionally, the itinerary includes trekking parts of the world-renowned Europaweg Trail, e-biking through woodlands and medieval towns, and on the last day, kayaking on beautiful Lake Orta - a wonderful finale to an epic trip.

European Operations Manager for Active Adventures, Adam Beecham says “For those seeking a more off-the-beaten-track experience than the Tour du Mont Blanc, our new trip itinerary fits the bill perfectly. The all-inclusive 9-day adventure encompasses fantastic hiking trails and cable car rides through the Italian and Swiss Alps, where you get incredible views of the stunning mountains,  glaciers, and lakes."

The Italian and Swiss alpine cultures serve as an enchanting backdrop, and the varied activities provide opportunities for adventurers to experience The Alps from all angles. "Guests will enjoy swapping out the hiking boots for a day's e-biking to explore medieval townships and woodlands, with the last day kayaking the sparkling blue waters of Lake Orta. Everyone knows of Lake Como - but just down the road we stay at one of Italy's best-kept secrets that is Lake Orta - it's 'magnifico'!"

The first trip is set to depart in August 2024 and with limited spaces available, Active Adventures anticipates this adventure vacation will sell out quickly. As Adam advises, "We would encourage anyone interested in finding out more about our new Italian & Swiss Alps Hiking Adventure, to get in touch via our website: ActiveAdventures.com as soon as possible."
