By paying in full we are able to pass on savings to our guests, but please note that by opting for this payment plan, your booking becomes non-refundable, non-cancellable, and non-changeable. 

We highly recommend that you purchase Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) insurance. Please note CFAR insurance can only be purchased within 14 days of booking. We recommend Redpoint Insurance – you can find details here.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to travel on these trips?

There will always be some risks involved when traveling, however, we have developed extensive protocols relative to each country and destination in which we operate to ensure that every component and activity included in our adventures are carried out in the safest way possible. We’re proud to be adhering to ATTA’s COVID-19 Health and Safety Guidelines.

Are travelers and guides required to get tested or vaccinated before traveling?

We do not require travelers and/or guides to get tested or vaccinated before traveling.

Effective September 1, 2023 the requirement for guests to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to participate in all our trips, including those in the Himalayas, was lifted.

Some countries may enforce vaccination requirements and other COVID-19 policies at any time, which could affect your ability to travel. This is no different from visa requirements whereby entry to any given country is subject to certain criteria such as nationality and criminal record.

All guests must adhere to the regulations and guidelines as mandated by the country in which they are traveling.


What type of insurance policies are available and best to purchase?

When possible, try to take out a policy that includes CFAR (Cancel For Any Reason). These policies may not always be available as this may depend on where you are traveling and where you are traveling from. Our recommendation for travel insurance is Redpoint Travel Protection. To learn more and purchase your travel insurance, head to our personalized Cavalry guest portal.

What exactly does travel insurance cover?

We advise you to contact your insurance company directly for coverage questions. We've partnered with Redpoint Travel Protection which covers trip cancellation for medical reasons, trip delay, medical expenses, accidental death, lost baggage, and medical evacuation.

What happens if I become ill days before my trip?

While we hope this doesn’t happen to you, we will ask you to not travel if you test positive for COVID-19 or fall ill immediately prior to your trip.  Any cancelation will be subject to the Cancelation and Refunds section of our Booking Terms and Conditions.
The following policy applies:

  • A cancelation will take effect from the date that we receive written notification of the cancelation. This cancelation policy includes voluntary or involuntary early departure from a trip. No refunds will be given for missed or unused services such as accommodation, activities, or meals. We strongly recommend travel insurance which covers cancelation fees at time of booking.

What happens if I or someone on my trip becomes ill or presents symptoms showing they're unwell?

  • If a guest or guide presents symptoms showing they are unwell during a trip (fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhoea), the company reserves the right to ask them to leave the trip to avoid infecting others.


  • If a guest tests positive for COVID-19 during a trip, they will be required to leave their trip immediately for a period of no less than 7 days. Guests are welcome to re-join the trip (where possible) upon presentation of a negative COVID-19 test after this period. 


  • If a guide tests positive for COVID-19 during a trip, the company will work quickly to ensure minimal disruption to the trip. We have an expansive international network which allows us to source suitable resources quickly and seamlessly.


  • Note: Any such removal will be at the guest’s own cost. As such, we recommend Travel Insurance to help protect your investment from any unforeseen circumstances. 

What else are you doing to ensure a safe trip?

  • Small Groups: You will be part of the same small group, with the same guide throughout the whole tour. By limiting the number of people our guests come in to contact with, there is reduced chance of being exposed to transmissible illnesses.
  • Hygiene: All surfaces in our transport and accommodations are thoroughly cleaned before each use and hand sanitizer will always be available.
  • Comprehensive Training: All guides will be fully trained to administer our new, enhanced safety and hygiene procedures.

How many people will I be traveling with?

On our scheduled departures, you’ll be traveling with a maximum group size of 12 or 18, depending on the destination. If you prefer to travel with only your group, inquire about an exclusive departure in which your group takes over one of our scheduled dates.
