Useful Info

From what to pack to details about the bike and gear included in the trip, read our Frequently Asked Questions to find out more.

On the first morning of the trip we'll pick you up at the Hotel Excelsior at 8:30am. You are welcome to book your pre-trip stay at this hotel directly or any other hotel in Munich, though you must make your own way to this pick-up point at the pre-designated time. Please come prepared in your cycling clothing and footwear for our first ride as a group today.

Your trip ends with a drop-off at one of the following locations: Downtown Salzburg after breakfast, Munich International Airport for flights listed below, or a hotel of your choice in Downtown Munich around 1pm. Alternatively, depending on your travel plans, we can also drop you at the Salzburg train station.

Arrival: We recommend arriving in Munich at least the day before your trip starts. Many guests like to arrive a day or two early to accommodate potential flight delays and/or explore the host city prior to your trip start.

Departure: Flying out on the last day of the trip, we recommend departing from Munich after 2pm. Earlier flight times will require a separate transfer booked at your own expense.

We have selected the accommodation on your trip for the stunning settings, unique character and adventuresome feel – it’s not designed as a tour of the fanciest hotels in Austria. The first hotel could be considered palatial, the second cozy with castle views, and the last is central to explore the highlights of Salzburg.
While there are laundry services at all locations, but the best location would be while in Salzburg, there are several nearby laundromats near the hotel. We recommend bringing enough clothing to only have to do laundry a once or no times during your trip, with the best time on Day 6 after the walking tour of Salzburg.

Hikes on this tour are considered easy to moderate, so a good level of fitness is recommended. Most hikes typically take between two to four hours, though some days may involve more or less hiking depending on the itinerary.
