I love reading a good book in my downtime, and do games nights with friends count as a hobby? cause if so, then that for sure!
Favorite Destination?
The Canadian Rocky Mountains in winter! A Winter wonderland!
Favorite Adventure Activity?
Hiking in summer, skiing/snowboarding in winter!
Most Inspiring Adventure Experience?
My most inspiring traveling experience… it’s actually quite simple, but it’s stuck with me. I was young and traveling with a friend in Bali. We were supposed to catch a 9am ferry to the islands…. But it never turned up. The next boat they could get us on wasn’t until 4pm. I was sad and stressed about it the moment I heard, but my friend just turned to me and went “how lucky are we that this is our biggest stress right now. I’ll go get us some beers” and off she went. It’s stuck with me so much because it just changed my mood instantly and instead of a horrible, stressed day, we just sat and had beers, laughing.
Favorite Active Adventures trip and why??
Obviously, the longer ones have you exploring more.... but I love the Great Walks of New Zealand. It's so great for people who don't have a lot of time as you get to see some of the most incredible landscapes of New Zealand.
When did you first get the travel bug?
I think I knew when I was 16 and constantly going on road trips with friends. It was solidified later at 19 when I moved to Melbourne and met the most incredible people that I would have never met had I stayed in Auckland.
Why did you become an Active Adventures Guide?
I wanted to be an active guide so that I could always be outdoors, showing people around some amazing places. I’ve never been one to want a 9-5 and the thought of working a desk job is actually a fear of mine. My dad used to always ask me what I wanted to be when I’m older, and I would reply with 2 things, that I wanted to go on adventures, and be a race car driver, so this feel pretty close…. lucky for you, the buses max speed is 90km/h (55mph)
What destination would you most like to visit?
Oh the French Alps!!! I would love to ski in Europe!
