Ellie was born and raised in Otautahi/Christchurch. She has a strong passion for New Zealand, and loves to meet new people and learn about their stories.
What's your favorite vacation destination?
Canada is one of my favorite places that I’ve been! I also have a special place in my heart for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.
What's your favorite adventure activity?
Skiing! I also love anything water related.
Tell us about your most inspiring adventure experience
I absolutely love animals so going anywhere and being able to get the binoculars or snorkel out and watching wild animals that we can’t see in New Zealand always leaves me in awe! I particularly love the marine life around the Pacific Islands and any alpine mammals in the French or Swiss Alps!

Classic South Island Adventure
What destination would you most like to travel to (that you haven't been to yet)?
Morocco is very high up my list! Followed closely by Alaska and Peru.
Why did you want to become a guide for Active Adventures?
Like everything else in my life, a good opportunity came around and I couldn’t turn it down.
When did you catch the travel bug?
Growing up, my mum was a bit of a ‘rolling stone’ who always encouraged traveling. I think I’ve always shared in her inspiration for new places, experiences, and people!
Tell us about your hobbies and special talents
My favorite indoor hobbies are cooking and baking. I also love a good Pilates class when I get the chance.
