Andrew is a Kiwi from Howick. Like many Kiwis, he's a keen surfer, snowboarder and swimmer and he's traveled the world. You'll be happy to know that he's guided over 1100 people all over Europe, Russia and Scandinavia and he hasn't lost a single one! If you're lucky enough to have Andrew as your lead guide when you visit us, be sure to ask him about his experience hiking the Weavers Trail to Machu Picchu or better yet, his adventure hitch-hiking across the United States.
Andrew's favorite quote: "There he goes, one of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high-powered mutant never considered for mass production. Too weird to live, too rare to die." - Hunter S. Thompson
“Andy was a truly amazing guide who was professional, knowledgeable, funny, and patient and he knew how to put his clients at ease so they could enjoy a fabulous adventure in many different ways. He listened carefully and then was able to hold conversations with everyone in the group about topics that truly interested them. His calm and supportive nature put everyone in the group at ease - "easy peezy" The depth of his knowledge about the MT Blanc area was impressive and he made the trip a most memorable one. His easy and playful interaction with Jean Marc and the others in our diverse group made for a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere for all.”
- Patty W. (Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States), Tour du Mont Blanc September 2018
“Just terrific in all respects. Cared for all of our individual needs and great knowledge of history and culture.”
- Dave M. (Illinois, United States), Kauri November 2017
“Andy is an incredible guide, and is a huge asset to Active Adventures. His knowledge, love and understanding of New Zealand is so evident in the way he interacts with the tour guests and also the third parties that work with Active Adventures to provide the tour experience.”
