Born and raised in Turkey. I have also lived in the USA, Costa Rice, Honduras, and Spain. I'm currently living in Chilean Patagonia.

Quirky/special talents?
I am quite good with languages. I have also written articles for some magazines and translated books from English and Spanish to Turkish.

What’s been your greatest outdoor adventure to date?
There are two that I remember particularly. One is a 10 day rafting expedition in Honduras Mosquitia area. The other one was a 10 day Sea Kayak expedition in Chilean fjords, czanal de las Montanas area.

What did you do before discovering a passion for guiding?
I was a university student (studying philosophy) and a translator.

Describe a life experience that has shaped you today:
The moment I started hiking trips when I was still a student. And I also still remember the first day I sat in a raft.

“Cahit was amazing. He took great care of us, both on and off the trails. I can't say enough good things about him. I have already had friends ask about this trip for next year, and mentioned him by name.”
- Jay Perry (LOS ALTOS, California, United States), Condor February 2018

“He is an amazing individual. I have a new friend. His patience and personal attention to each group member was wonderful. He was our teacher, he was our daily dose of comedy, and he did it ALL day with a smile. I am so grateful he led our group. On the last night in Chile, he/Anna arranged to buy a small sample packet of the local spice our group fell in love with. He also picked up another local favorite spread for my husband and I. Those little touches demonstrate he is excellent at his job. I would take him on all of my adventure trips if I could!”
- Kristen Barry (West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States), Condor December 2017

“He was excellent. Highly recommend him for others.”
- Jim Santori (North Mankato, Minnesota, United States), Condor November 2016
