Gokul Adhikari

Nepal Guide

Gokul has been with Active Adventures since our very first trek in Nepal in 2011. With 17 years experience guiding in the Himalayas Gokul has many stories to share. An accomplished cook of Nepali, Western and Indian dishes he is master chef and commander and chief on our upper Mustang expeditions. Never short of a smile and a kind word, Gokul is an integral part of our Himalayan operations. A friend to all he lives in Kathmandu with his wife and four wonderful children.

“I totally bonded with Gokul in the kitchen. At each stop, I'd visit him and he's show me his set up and some of his secrets for camp cooking. His sense of humor and patience were wonderful. That he invited our team to him home for our final dinner was touching and so memorable. ”
- Jane Kurtz (Portland, Oregon, United States), Mustang August 2018

“EXCELLENT...great trail companion...very enjoyable ”
- Jon Mahoney (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada), Sherry Mahoney (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada), Khumbu October 2017

“He was the reason I completed the trek. He is the best--patient, encouraging, always positive, and he was full of information about what we saw. He was a true leader in that he brought out the best in all of us. ”
- Marcia Behrendt (St. Louis, Missouri, United States), Khumbu September 2016
