Erick Farfan Zamalloa

Peru Guide

Erick was born in Cuzco, where he has spent his entire life, so he's certainly an expert! As a child he always admired his own Peruvian customs and culture and was fascinated with exploring each corner of his country. He has now worked in the Peruvian Tourism industry for over twelve years and particularly loves to trek and go on expeditions. All in all he loves his job!

Erick is married to his lovely wife Carmen and has two wonderful (and slightly naughty, so he tells us) children, Marcela and Sebastian.

“Erick was awesome. He knew all about the areas we were at. He did everything to make sure we were comfortable and safe. He gave us all kinds of information to make the best of our free time also. I cant say enough good things about him.”

“Erick is an unbelievable guide. He has the highest level of professionalism one could ask for on a guided trip. He ensured he learned everyone's name. He took the time to constantly explain cultural knowledge. He related to all clients at all times. Erick is top notch across the board. ”
- Will Tadich (Orlando, Florida, United States), Iguana September 2017

“Erick was the BEST! He was kind, caring, patient, funny, knowledgeable, and always so well prepared. I thought I would keep my birthday which landed during the trek under the radar, but the celebration that was put together by Erick and the support team was very, very special - thank you... I had tears in my eyes saying good-bye to Erick. He's a keeper Active!”

    Great Guides, Beautiful Countryside

The trip was an exciting experience of New Zealand. The guides took very good care of us and helped with any of our needs and wishes. I am so pleased with the trip and would recommend it to anyone who wants to see beautiful scenery and take an active part in enjoying it. I would and may do it again .

    Worth every penny!

This was an amazing trip - highly recommended! Our guides, Koru and Liana, were great - kept us moving and active in all kinds of weather and conditions. Some of the planned tour had to be modified due to weather - it does rain a lot - but no regrets at all. We got a taste of New Zealand on beautiful days, rainy days, and once in rain, sleet and hurricane force winds, but we were always well cared for and felt like we'd seen New Zealand in all of it's majesty. The hiking was strenuous enough to feel like a challenge and leave us tired and a bit sore most days, but never too difficult. The Siberia Valley part of the trip was just spectacular! Koru's knowledge of New Zealand's native plants and animals, history, Maori heritage, and Lord of the Rings stories were particularly fascinating. Would love to go again!

    Fantabulous

A simply amazing trip-- pristine scenery, magical and majestic mountains, and all coordinated seamlessly by a fantastic trip leader and guides. Our family of seven-- spanning the ages of 78 to 12-- was perfectly supported, educated, and delighted by Arturo our trip leader and the local guides. They are all kind, fun, and experienced. Cem was true to his name, a gem, ever so patient with those of us with sore joints, and always with a sparkle or story to share.

    Loved it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and felt we saw and experienced much of the island. Ben and Emma were exceptional guides: friendly, fun, knowledgeable, and hard working! We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with this trip and they went out of their way to make it even more special. The sites were amazing and to top it off we had outstanding weather.
