New Zealand Guide
Where were you born and where did you grow up?
From a young age I spent my summers sailing around the North Island of New Zealand with my family and became captivated by the environment and the life I found within it.
What are your hobbies?
I love everything outdoors, from hiking high up in the mountains, sailing along the coastline and my favourite activity - being submerged below the surface.
Do you have any special talents?
Some people believe I'm a fish because I can hold my breath underwater for up to 3mins 35seconds.
What has been your greatest outdoor adventure?
My greatest outdoor adventure was exploring Antarctica! I was lucky enough to spend six and a half weeks on the ice, living at Scott Base, working on the Scott’s and Shackleton’s historic huts and completing the restoration of the Sir Edmund Hillary’s Hut.
What did you do before you became a guide?
During my studies I started work at Dive Tutukaka where I continued my scuba diving training to become an Instructor. I use my natural enthusiasm and infectious personality to inspire those around me and share my passion for the environment.
Do you have a favourite quote?
‘Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.’ - Mark Twain
Have you studied beyond school? If so in what?
I studied for five and a half years completing a Masters of Architecture at the University of Auckland.
