We've crafted our Europe adventures to blend together amazing activities with insight into the rich culture and history of the regions we explore. With first class local guides with years of experience and knowledge in their backyard, they'll lead you through Europe's most spectacular landscapes and villages on incredible hikes, biking excursions, sea kayaking adventures and much more. A Europe adventure is so much more than a hiking, biking or sea kayaking trip though – it's a cultural, historical and gastronomic journey unrivalled by any other destination on the planet, with every region possessing its own qualities and characteristics. Sample the unique wine and cheese of the Beaufontain after a stunning day's hiking on the Mont Blanc circuit, sea kayak to a tiny village on the shore of Lake Como in the Italian lakes district, dine at a family-run rifugio in the heart of the Italian Dolomites – there's much to explore!
The Mont Blanc massif is one of the most iconic and dramatically beautiful mountain ranges in the world and a must-see area of the European Alps. While most trips circumnavigate this iconic mountain range by foot, we’ve taken it a step further to not only experience its spectacular geography, but also explore the history, culture and cuisine of France, Italy and Switzerland with expert local guides. In 12 days you’ll explore Chamonix and some of the region’s oldest and most beautiful towns as you circumnavigate Mont Blanc on foot, in a sea kayak and by bike – a genuine and original Active Adventure!
After 9 days of experiencing the Dolomites on this trip, you’ll find yourself lost for words. Amidst massive rock monoliths, rolling green meadows, stunning forest and villages straight out of a fairytale, you’ll hike, bike and explore this spectacular region with the very BEST and renowned expert local guides. And yet, the Dolomites with Active Adventures is so much more than outstanding landscapes and adventure – you’ll experience the incredible hospitality of the local Ladin people of the Sud Tyrol region, stay in very comfortable mountain hotels and have the chance to taste the amazing variety of local food and wine.
The Italian Lakes District conjures up images of idyllic villages, cobbled piazzas, fine food and beautiful architecture, dramatically steep mountains and deep green forests set against a backdrop of blue waters. On this 10 day adventure you’ll explore both the iconic and lesser known areas of this region of Northern Italy, as well as the rarely visited Sesia Valley (Valsesia). With expert local guides, the culture, history, sights, sounds and tastes of Northern Italy will reveal themselves amidst a backdrop of some of the most stunning scenery on the planet. All experienced in typical Active style – you’ll hike through untouched villages, valleys and ridges of Valsesia at the foot of the Italian/Swiss Alps, sea kayak to quiet villages on Lakes Orta and Como, and embrace the relaxed pace of life, for which the Italians are renowned. For an espresso blend of glaciers, green meadows and forests; stunning lakes, villages and the finer things in life, the ‘Dolce Vita’ is an unforgettable trip.
