Vanessa Wards

New Zealand Guide

Vanessa has a long list of hobbies including surfing, wakeboarding, running, Crossfit, and mountain biking. Good food, better coffee, great conversations and of course cold beer also feature on her hobbies list, which is fair enough we reckon! She's climbed the highest mountain in the west of Ireland in bare feet (they have mountains in Ireland!?) and she's worked in the Pilbara region of Australia as a Civil Trade Assistant, where each shift is 28 days long and the majority of workers are male. She recalls that as being an amazing and challenging experience; a real confidence booster and a good reminder that woman can do anything! Aside from her fly in / fly out work in Australia, Vanessa has also managed a gym, been a healthy lifestyle coordinator and an outdoor activity camp coordinator!

Testimonials

  • “Vanessa is awesome! I would love to live in New Zealand just so we can be friends. She was so professional but so relatable during the entirety of the trip.”
Michael Prince (Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States) December, 2014
  • “Vanessa is a great gal - wise beyond her years, and very adaptable to the different personalities we had on this group trip. She enjoyed sharing about her life, and always asked us about our lives. She was firm when necessary, but willing to compromise when requested also. She ran a good balance of a "tight" trip and a "loose" trip.”
Jane Koepp (Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States) November, 2014
  • “Vanessa was A-1, top notch, caring, kind, proficient, an excellent, careful driver and a joy to be with for 14 days. She shared her knowledge and passion for her country and her interest in sheep was very welcomed. I really felt fond of Vanessa by the end of the trip as she had earned my trust and respect. She is an excellent manager of multiple responsibilities and personalities. She knew how to handle every nuance of the people with grace. Perfect professionalism.”
Nora Tavalieri (Clarkston, Michigan, United States) November, 2014
